Tesla Model Y AWD Performance AWD Revealed, Offers 580 Km Of WLTP Range
Tesla unveiled the top-spec Model Y Performance. The flagship variant offers up to 580 km WLTP-certified range. It also gains exclusive exterior changes and extra features over the Long Range version.
Design Changes
Design upgrades include larger 21-inch Arachnid alloy wheels and a distinct Performance badge. Colour choices remain identical to other trims. Pearl White Multi-Coat is the standard shade, while five other paints cost extra.
Interior
The interior feels more premium and sport-focused. It features a carbon-fibre finish, sports seats, and a 15-speaker audio system. All equipment from the Long Range trim in India is also available.
Battery Performance & Range
As with most Teslas, battery size and output figures remain undisclosed. However, the Model 3 Performance accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hr in 3.5 seconds and produces 460 HP! That makes it quicker than the AWD Long Range sold abroad and faster than India’s RWD Long Range.
The EV’s top speed is limited to 250 km/hr. Tesla claims the battery can add 243 km of range in 15 minutes. Ride modes for the suspension have also been introduced to accommodate various driving dynamics.
Outlook
Currently, the brand sells only the Standard and Long Range RWD versions in India. Prices stand at Rs. 59.86 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs. 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. As of present, there is no confirmation regarding the Performance AWD’s India launch.
